I wanted to rage at the unfairness of his life and then Second Chance was released. And honestly? Cole has been given another chance at happiness. I can't imagine anyone deserving it more.

Powerful emotions and secretive lives are the catalysts that keep the plot flowing in Second Chance. No. That isn't exactly true. It is the powerful emotions and rockin' good plot involving secrets and lies that makes Second Chance a must read. The storyline of Second Chance will dazzle and entice. The passion of Ms. Reece's main characters is steamy - she is THE author to read for romantic suspense. I whole heartedly and joyfully recommend Second Chance. It is just that amazingly spectacular!

This is the second book in the chance trilogy By Christy Reece and they have been great. I've thoroughly enjoyed them, but even before this trilogy I read most of the books involving the LCR people. They were all excellent. This one was about Cole and the guilt he felt after being captured and drugged while on a rescue mission and while drugged killing an innocent man. He feels responsible for the man's family and decides to watch over them. When Last Chance Rescue finds the doctor responsible for the drugging and killings Cole is asked to help with the final ending of this man. Once away Keeley is left without protection and her children are stolen from her and sold. Cole is then determined to find and return the children to their mother. He has a secret that he is unable to share with Keeley and over time finds he has fallen in love with her. A story of revenge and jealousy. It was a very satisfying read and held my attention.
Second Chance features LCR agent Cole who has had probably the most tortured life out of the agents so far. This is another fantastic book in the LCR series capturing many emotions. I kept changing my mind on who I thought the villain was. One of my favorite things is the return of previous written characters and introductions to upcoming characters. They never take away from the main characters and you do not need to have read their story to enjoy this book. Their stories are so good you really should though. A very well written and suspenseful book.
The author always creates such likable characters, and this book is no different. Yes they have their flaws, but that makes them more enduring.

When Cole was kidnapped, drugged, and tortured, he had been forced to do unspeakable acts, including killing an innocent man. With his freedom came guilt and the overwhelming urge to look after the murdered man's widow, albeit without her knowledge.

Keeley 's mother, who struggled to make ends meet raising her, died when she was in college. Living in a town that looked down on her for her poverty stricken status was hard, but then she fell in love with and married the towns golden boy. Before his kidnap and murder, Keeley and the town finds out the golden boy was a bit of a two timer. For all of his flaws he did give something she never wants to live without her twin girls. The book begins with the kidnapping of those two girls.

I enjoyed watching the relationship grow between these two characters. The romance was hot and the story line was a page turner (or with the kindle, a button pusher). Although this was not my favorite in the series, if you like the previous books in the series you will like this one as well. If you haven't read the series, don't read this one first, start at the beginning.

First thought I am sad that there are only 4 more books in the series!

What I Loved Cole, Cole, Cole, Cole! Ok so I have been looking forward to Cole's story because he was so damaged (like most at LCR). However, he was damaged even after being part of LCR. His story made me cry twice but the end was so rewarding! I love Keeley for him because she was just what he needed! Their love was a slow burn but so worth the wait!

What I Liked Ethan and Shea being part of the OP! I think this needed to happen for obvious reasons with their history involving Cole. I think it was healing for everyone!

What made me go huh? The only reason this wasn't a five was because the end was a bit rushed for me! I wanted a little more of Cole/Keeley happy.
