Stories say that the Ancestors created a world of peace and plenty, and that humankind once soared like birds above the face of their creation, and even explored the darkness between the stars. Stories tell of the Red Fever, a deadly plague that transformed a world of light and life into a wasteland littered with strange relics and forbidden cities haunted by the ghosts of yesterday. Stories speak of the time of the Great Sorrow, when the ragged bands of the Ancestors’ remaining children gathered into warring tribes….
For Kestrel Stoneheart, the ghosts of yesterday have little bearing on her desire to join the elite warriors of her tribe and to protect her people against all enemies. But before she can stand beneath the Bone Tree and become a Red Hand, she must first survive the Kill—a deadly rite of passage that pits her against the most lethal enemy she knows.
Unknown to Kestrel, someone is quietly uncovering secrets of the past that will threaten not only her life, but also the lives of the few survivors of humanity.
Tribe The Red Hand Tribe Series Book 1 eBook Kaelyn Ross
This is the first book in a series of a post-apocalyptic setting. It is a well written story of tribal survival paralleled in the quest and initiation of becoming a member of the Red Hand clan; how one survives the quest is also how one fits into the tribe. The main characters are siblings and with that is their sibling rivalry; how it affects their family life as well as their tribal future rests in the guidance of their ancestors. Their lifestyle is primative in comparison to the bits and pieces of the past that they come into contact with, especially with a found weapon. Glimpses of the distance past in the relics and remnants scattered within the story reveal that the ancestors will have their work cut out for them in guiding these two! I am looking forward to the next book and anticipate that it will be as great as this first one has been.Product details

Tribe The Red Hand Tribe Series Book 1 eBook Kaelyn Ross Reviews
I enjoy story lines that emphasize the strength, determination and bravery of females! I enjoyed this story. But anger, self doubt and the desire for revenge can weaken and destroy the best victory.
Tribe The Red Hand is a great start to what promises to be a highly entertaining series. It's fast paced, well written, and a fun new insight into the post apocalyptic genre. Definitely interested in reading the sequels.
This is a good book. It has lots of action. It's not my normal kind of book but I enjoyed reading it. I had to finish it so I could find out what happened. Now I need to read the next one to find out more. So get your copy and enjoy.
I was looking for something different into read other than romance novels. I quickly got into this book and finished it in a couple of days. I thought it had a good storyline and it kept me interested in it wondering what was going to happen next. I did purchase the second book and about half way through it but have kind of lost some of my interest in it.
I was initially pulled in by the cover. Who can resist a half naked woman with a big knife, right? The synopsis convinced me to purchase, but I was slightly skeptical it would be any good.
I ended up pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed Tribe very much. Full of action from the very start and it keeps going to the end. The dialogue is sparse, but really good, especially the interactions between the protagonist, Kestrel, and her a-hole brother, Aiden. There's some great lines in their back and forth.
The other thing that impressed me with Tribe is how efficient the author is with the writing. Almost every line is important. You'll see when you near the end and begin to realize that everything that happened previously ties in with the final climactic scenes.
I'm definitely looking forward to reading more in this series.
I have read four parts of this series now and I think each gets better than the one before. I only wish that the next part (Part five) were available now. I am a very fast reader and get a bit impatient for the next part of this series each time. One of the things that is good about this series is because some of the things in it are all too common. The older brother is usually putting her down ( like some siblings do) with some really tough love, and having grown up with this, she just accepts it as normal life. Her while life has been a goal of growing and proving herself and she thinks she is all grown up but has a lot to learn about herself and life. This series is about this struggle and another larger struggle, a struggle for survival and not just for her.
“I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review”. Pulls you in from the very beginning with the main character running for her life from a beast that is chasing her. Seems to be a mix of the future and what could be taken as early tribe life. Throw in the evil, manipulative brother and mysteries from the past and it keeps you wondering "What next?" Don't start reading this book unless you enjoy, and can afford, to keep ordering the sequels..
